1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
i ran 2 half marathons (does that count as 1 full marathon?)

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

no :( my goal was to run a race every month...while i did run 12 races in 2009, i didn't run any in november or december

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?


yes, my sister did, though after reading of her love for lady gaga, we may not be close anymore...

4. Did anyone close to you die?


nope

5. What countries did you visit?


uh, canada!

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
a new puppy! ha ha, just kidding :) a baby of course...and maybe a new used car

7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
christmas eve...became an aunt

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?


my half marathons and losing lots of weight

9. What was your biggest failure?
??? Probably the weight i've gained since i got pregnant...not happy with it, but it's for a good cause

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
lots and lots of morning sickness, if that counts. otherwise, it was a very healthy year

11. What was the best thing you bought?
i LOVE my GPS watch for running, someday i will use it again more. And my size 6 pants, that are now shoved in a drawer until next winter when, God willing, i will get them to fit again

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Nick's...he's been awesome

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?


why dwell on the negative...okay, i can't think of anyone in particular, but i'm sure there are lots

14. Where did most of your money go?
mortgage and clothes (at least that's what nick would say...i can't help that i needed a new wardrobe)

15. What did you get really excited about?
having a baby, becoming an aunt, and vacations

camped, went home

in my pajamas playing mario brothers and watching movies with nick

the twilight books. though the book dad got me for christmas has had me laughing out loud all weekend

can't say i made any big musical discovery

A finishers medal for a half marathon

a new car, a million dollars :)

i really liked the proposal and the hangover

nick and i hung out at home...i think i feel asleep at about 7 :) i only turned 27...not 87 like it may seem

seeing my family more

cuter clothes than i have worn in a long time

well, it was about time for our early spring snow storm. it was a wonderful weekend, temperatures in the 60s and 70s...then BAM! we woke up to lots of snow, no power and wind. so, snow day for everyone which meant extra time to work on the basement. also, our couch left denver last night and midnight and showed up here around nine.

this weekend we got the flooring done on the living room side of our basement. all that's left is trim now!

Okay, so I finally retreived the camera from my car and downloaded the pictures so I could have a worthwhile blog.

We had a wonderful weekend at Fairmont Hotsprings two weeks ago (wow! it has been a while!) we got to spend half a day at Discovery skiing in wonderful conditions, blue sky, fresh snow, good beer :) and a lot of time in the hot springs. lucky for me i get to go back again this weekend. though, no skiing this time, just a road race and hotsprings.


Also, I have found out that I am going to Washington DC for work at the beginning of May, so Nick and I are turning it into a mini-vacation as well. We will be spending two days in Boston and two days in New York City. I am super psyched especially because we got Red Sox tickets for while we are in Boston!

Weekend in montana

we made it to billings after a fun trip on snowy roads. Winter storm warning through tomorrow so more fun ahead. we are heading to fairmont hot springs for a weekend of relaxation and skiing. I am super excited to be heading north for the first time since thanksgiving.

Lucky for me gonzaga is playing so I have time to do some blogging. Especially after my slacker week of blogging. It has been an uneventful week in gilette. I have been running (3 miles on sunday and tuesday)

Is it spring time yet?

so as i write, the weather is actually pretty nice for february, but i still can't help but long for warm weather and long days. the darkness absolutely kills me (though it is much worse for nick, leaving for work in the dark and returning from work in the dark). thank goodness we don't live in alaska :). my husband tells me i am suffering from some spring fever, which i can't help but to agree with. maybe it's because we didn't take our annual trip to a tropical oasis this year.

it has been a busy week at work...which is really a good thing, but i feel like i haven't been able to sit and breathe. yesterday i went to a round table discussion for the school district to discuss what are important skills in my industry. i sat at the agriculture, natural resources and environment table...for a person who works at a coal company, a little off base, but whatever. it was interesting and i was very impressed with the student moderators who were quite well spoken.

today i am going to the north antelope rochelle mine for a meeting. NARM is the largest surface coal mine in the world. it is quite an operation and very impressive to see.

my dogs are acting like holy terrors. remy likes to run back and forth at full speed from the living room to the bedroom...it gets kind of scary when he really gets going! and then they wrestle. i can handle the wrestling, but the noise that comes with it is ungodly. i can't stand it! so finally after some scolding, they are laying down looking forlorn. here's how they look when they're behaving!
